Just when you think your pen has run dry, as I did yesterday, pondering on how I could entertain the troops with my next ramblings.. the answer arrives in the post and saves the day!
As you probably have surmised by now... I love rabbits.. not so much the fluffy carrot crunching ones (sorry Jo & Captain Rupert.. though you are a very handsome beast) NO.. as I am having a severe regression in the run up to old age .. my mid-life crisis has manifested itself as a yearning to collect rabbit icons, toys, ephemera .... I am quite particular about the rabbits that are forming a small warren in my home.. they have to have some kind of nostalgic appeal.. retro bunnies!
I am going to have to seek therapy for this lapin fixation but in the meantime here are some of my lovely long-eared friends..
This latest arrival is the real McCoy... not a reproduction which is what I feared he may be .. he is just what my heart desired..
And this motley crew are a few of the raggle taggle rabbits that I love so much..
P.s Thank you all, for your kind comments about my mum... yes she was very special!

They are lovely rabbits Michelle.
I will have to post some of my old toys that I still have in the loft.
There is so much that you have to show us.....I can feel it.

Nothing like a bit of childhood regression I've been doing it since I had children! Your big rabbit looks a bit like the one in the book called The Velveteen Rabbit - be careful because he becomes a real rabbit.
Thats a wonderful rabbit how I wish I could see it moving. Your other rabbits are wonderful, Its made me miss some of my rabbits that have been hiding out at my mums for safe keeping, I feel I'm going to have to raid her loft. There is one rabbit called hoppleshum. No idea if that is how you spell it's a german name. He used to be my aunts and has white fur with the pretiest pink ears and a bell in his tail. Some might think I might need help on the rabbit front.
Jo
I would love to see your rabbit with the bell in his tale.. now I am suffering from rabbit envy!

Hi Michele, rabbits are cute! The other day I discovered the rabbit I made at primary school in needlework, he may make it on to my blog sometime. I can't think if I have any bunny toys, but I have got two sylvac bunnies, one blue and one yellow, and a collection of red clay Hornsea bunny ornaments, these I shall blog sometime too. Watch out for the bunny invasion! x
Michele, you have a lovely blog. I also love vintage toys and old children books.
Hi Michele,
Guess what I found today in Laura Ashley?.........
A gorgeous, sofy, fluffy Bunny, so pretting with little pale pink ears.
I saw her and thought of you instantly.
Hope you have a nice realaxing evening.
Hugs xx
I love your rabbits, although the one on the bike would have spooked me as a child!
Yesterday's post was beautiful. I've been missing my Mum enormously this week and I loved reading about your Mum.
Take care and I'm so pleased I managed to raise a chuckle so early in the morning ;o)
Oh my, that big ol' rabbit is breaking my heart! He is gorgeous, and looks like he's had a lot of love.
Love the new addition as well. What a find!

I don't have a collection but I do have a few of those adorable creatures placed around my home. Your collection is charming.
I love rabbits too-yours are lovely! A while back I posted a photo of my old Steiff rabbit, he has amazing blue glass eyes, you would probably like him too (I've seen one on Ebay if you want to treat yourself!!) xx
Hi Michele, if you have the time, I would like you to post on your blog, a funny, random and weird fact about you, I hope you can oblige. Louise x
