Don't be fooled by this sweet little furry face.. and 'butter wouldn't melt' expression...
Just seconds later.. with that glint in his eyes.. It was an all out attack on the duvet and anything that happened to be under it... my feet! This cat has no shame!Though I suspect that Pickles was just venting his anger at the arrival of another four legged.. or should I say 'wheeled'.. friend..
Oh yes.. his nose has been put out of joint somewhat by the arrival of this curious parcel ..A very curious parcel indeed.. and the packaging worthy of an art's award...
I couldn't wait to get my paws on it and discover what or who... was inside..
It didn't take long to reveal this handsome little face..Looking a little forlorn after his long journey.. It really was love at first sight..
I would like you to meet Basil...
He is the best of pedigrees.. A Lines Brothers fox terrier..1950's... Early Triang toys..Now the big question is.. do I adopt him.. tempting tempting.. or take him to the fair and offer him up for adoption???
He will be accompanying me to the fair so you can come and say hello...
As far as Pickles is concerned... the sooner he goes the better!

Pickles is perfect, but Basil is beautiful. He brings back memories that one...........

Now, how much tuna would it take for me to bribe Pickles to wheel Basil eastwards along the coast road I wonder ...?
Mx
I'd throw in some prawns ...
Oooooh, I LOVE Basil. But I love Pickles more. Can he come to the fair?
I totally forget which blog I'm afraid, but I was reading one recently and the lady had captured her cat playing with a catnip toy, each little step, as it rubbed its head on the toy, rolled over etc. If Mr Pickles likes catnip you will recognise the scenario. I am planning (amongst many other things of course!) to make some for our cats but how long they will last, I don't know. The attacking feet under the duvet trick is one we know well here. The scrabbling at my hair on the pillow is a little more unnerving!

I'm loving Basil, what a beauty!

Oh Basil is adorable and I'm sure he is a lot less demanding than the beautiful Pickles!
Lol, your cat and your little wheeled friend are so cute! I dont think I could bear to part with it, it is so lovely. xxxx
Oh keep him, keep him! He is adorable. I can see why Pickles nose is out of joint though and he is equally adorable. We're getting a four legged friend soon. One of my Mums strays is coming to live with us when they finally sell their house. He's about twice the size of Pickles though so will be going on a diet. Not sure he'd be so keen to come to Oxfordshire if he knew that!
What a beautiful dog on wheels! And your cat has a lovely face. I should keep them together!
Poor Pickles.....such a lot to endure!
Ah Basil is quite a find... I would keep if it was me (but then I'm like that!) I so want to come to the fair too – why is Scotland so far away from everything? :(
Love Pickles' expression too – what a cutie :)
Dog on Wheels - how wonderful, how jealous am I? How can you possibly part with him???!!!
Basil is gorgeous.I'm glad he found a good home.
Will you be calling the next one,Sybil? ;-)
How can you part with Basil? I even bought extral Euro Lottery tickets last week so I could come to the Fair and never go back to work again of course!! I am thinking of taking out the pages of the books I promised you ages ago, that have pictures on might be useful to you - would that be any good. It must be a year now since I siad you could have them!!
Is Pickles aware that it would be such an easy job to stick him to Basil's wheels? You’re right about the packaging. You should fill the box with newspaper and send it to Battersea Dogs home! t.x
Hi Michele,
I can't wait to meet Basil at the V&H...If you decide to part with him, I'd be VERY happy to adopt such a handsome chap. I have no cats here to give him any bother, so he'd have my undivided!
(Loved your photo of his nose sticking out of the box! Cute!)

Pickles is absolutely beautiful! When I see pictures like that I really wish I could have a cat again, but I don't think my allergic husband would forgive me! Basil is lovely too :)

How could you just adopt him out? After his long trip in that dreadful box? I think he at least needs a reprieve from constantly changing homes, My goodness, he barely has his bearings straight yet! Mr. Pickles will just have to share his domain (I know hard to imagine).
Oh how I miss the days of kitties keeping my feet warm in bed. Steve simply won't allow it. And Daisy puts up with his bossiness, unless he is not looking.
Maybe you should threaten Pickles to be on a four wheeled rack or what do you call that, you know what I mean, and take him to the fair while Basil would hang around in your place when he repeats his actions.
I'm catching up reading and writing comments after vacation...hahaha I should do the laundry and some ironing, get some groceries again...I'm off wishing you a beautiful sunny afternoon!
Hi Mr. Pickles!! I bet that Basil could probably keep up with you being as he has some most interesting wheels to go vrrrrrm all over your house.
Michelle, I do believe that you would probably feel some degree of doubt if you sell Basil. I think that he would get along quite nicely with Ms. Penney (the plastic chicken). :O

I'm surprised Pickles hasn't sent Basil on his way with a flea in his ear! I'm sure Basil is just adorable, perfectly behaved, clawless and no trouble at all!
What a lovely parcel to get...he's gorgeous
ah Mr Pickles, my fav... he's so handsome, I love him!! I'm willing to give either a good home.
Looking forward to meeting Basil at the fair... please bring Mr P! :)
Hi Michele
Sorry, but he'll have to stay - no profit there, other than the fact that you must keep him!!!
I saw someone very similar yesterday, but walked straight past. What was I thinking?
Sue xx
Oooooo Pickles is ADORABLE
and I would keep Basil BUT if Pickles doesn't like him???
xxxx
What a handsome cat! Yes, I know all too well about the toe thing. Leo has always been partial to sticking his claws into my toes. As a kitten we called him Genghis Toe-Ripper!
Lesley X
Maybe if you made Pickles some little wheels to wear on special occassions???
The box is brilliant and looks like a Rachel Whitread special; quite worthy of a Turner Prize!
And Basil looks a lot, lot more lovely and dosile than the string of crazy fox terriers my granny always had...how I wish the demented 'Skippy' had been a Basil of this world...keep him, he's a good-'un!
x Philippa
Pickles is so cute. If Basil were mine I wouldn't be able to part with him.x
Thank you so much Michele for your kind comment on my site. xxx

I want your cat!!! He is so beautiful.I'm going to Bath in about four weeks, so watch out ;) OO I think I would keep that little doggie, sorry Mr. Pickles!
There's room for both of them........ Both beautiful and loveable and very, very wantable.x
I can remember having one of those dogs in the sixties. I'm not quite sure that the dog looks the same but I remember the red metal frame and the little wooden foot rests. It was a Christmas present from my Nan. Lovely to see one of them again.
Tracey
You have got to keep Basil, how could you not, so cute!
If I manage to get too the fair I will come and say hello too Basil and to you as well.
Love Lou xxx
PS. Pickles looks adorable!
adopt him he's lovely, oh or let me adopt him for you!!!please I'll be your best friend!!!
Felicity xx
Mr Pickles is such a handsome lad - a pity he can't come along to the V&H Fair too. I'm hoping to be able to get to Chipping Sodbury on the 30th and hope Basil will still be around so that I can have a look at him - he's lovely.
Basil is wonderful, but I'd be a bit worried that Pickles would sharpen his claws on him when you weren't looking!
Hi Michele,
He is a very handsome chap.
I think you should keep him for your first ! long way off I know I know.....
Guy would either lick him to death or rip hin off his wheels if I brought him home.
Cx
I don't think pickles has anything to worry about with the new dog!x
Hi Michele,
Basil is indeed a handsome chap and i would be torn as to keep or let him go.......Mr Pickles on the other hand is a keeper.
Love Kristina XxX
He is very appealing but doesn't look too impressed with Pickles either!
Have a lovely weekend.
Ruth xx
What a difficult decision. But Pickles is the cutest ever.
A cat, as we all know, is simply a cat. And that is that. I love to watch their shenanigans. Adopt it? Well, no poop to clean up!
Brenda
Hello Basil and Pickles *waves*
Why do cats do that.....I love the little dog he is sure to find a good home.
Jan
Beautiful cat.
And Basil the dog is just fab. I'd have snapped him up if I'd seen him ... and me a Cat Woman!!
Oh how beautiful... Basil has stolen my heart! I'm having the same dilemmas, keep buying little nic-nacs to 'take to the fair' and then they seem to nestle quite nicely in a little corner of my home... mmm. It is getting ridiculous!x
We were just browsing around, looking for a good profile pic as Moma grooms our heads, and saw Basil! Whatever happened to him?? Did you adopt him? Did he go to the fair? Where'd you first find the handsome little fella? We love him! Love at first sight!
Stop by, if you'd like,
Jake and Fergi
