Are you someone who makes mental shopping lists that never actually go beyond the grey matter ?
I am a hopeless 'wish list' person.. always flicking through a multitude of catalogues and brochures making tick lists of all the items I lust after.. thankfully these extortionate shopping lists rarely surface further than a momentary longing and I save oodles of money by filing them away in that vast filing cabinet called.." one day my venetian mirror, cashmere socks, velvet coat, fairisle beret, ad infinitum... will come".....I have just been drowned in another day's delivery of pre-Christmas brochures all vying for my attention and money.. some of them..most of them do not go further than the recycling bin but others are carefully stacked in my old wooden basket for the day that I decide I can afford these bright baubles and fancies.. which is very seldom.. Today's offerings consisted of a small neat catalogue called Plumo.. full of pretty pretty temptations.. this was followed swiftly by The White Company catalogue.. oh how I love their bed linen... my purchase from them of embroidered duvet cover and matching pillowcases to end up being used as a dust sheet by the electricians re-wiring our house...!!!!!
Graham & Green is another of my faves.. Cox & Cox... ooooer.. the list is getting dangerously long..
I have been seduced by the 'must have' mercury silver candle holders.. the wall lights cunningly disguised as Cherry blossom.. the recycled, pressed glass, rose- tinted tumblers.... I think I should stop right there..
Where do your weaknesses lie in the world of the glossy pages... please share with me your 'retail therapy' secrets...
I am all ears..

Good morning having a sneaky look with my breakfast - how sad is that?? I am the same as you - I spend so much time dreaming about what I would love to have. My star sign is Cancer and I once read somewhere that we are home makers ( I knew that) but apparently we file away our future dreams!! in folders. How did they know about me? I have house ones, garden, sewing projects, nice pictures of fruit & veg!! and they are all going to be packed!! Must go - hair to dry .............. checked out your website last night - gorgeous - better than chocolate??!!
Still havent gone - now I am late - but I did the flower thing - will ladd it tonight - I am the same as you.......happy brochure devouring......
Thank you so much Catherine!
That is praise indeed... Chocolate is sacred stuff!
( 'specially.. Green & Blacks's Milk choc and Cherry)
Michele
Hi Michele, I too am bombarded with brochures and catalogues all the time, I think once you subscribe to one it starts off a chain of events! The last few days I have been really busy with other things and I have been resorting to throwing mine into a large paper carrier bag to sort through when I have a bit more time, most of them heading straight for the blue box! Luckily I am the sort of person that can resist temptation and I can manage to window shop, and I do only tend to buy stuff that I really really like or need, or even wait for the sale, especially with The White Company as with their 15% off offers too, you can get items at a more realistic price and I get far much more enjoyment out of finding a bargain then spending a fortune! Louise x
I love looking at the catalogues and drooling over everything, but more for ideas of what to look out for when I'm browsing at car boot sales or charity shops. I wanted an old watering can this year after seeing one in a catalogue and I managed to pick one up for £2...I had far more satisfaction from that than spending a small fortune on a reproduction from a catalogue (much as I'd like to!)
Nice blog, just discovered you through somewhere, can't remember where....
Michele, this afternoon I have finally got around to sorting out all the rubbish I was drowning in, lots for the shredder and recycling bin, I ignored promises of 15% off this and 20% off that, I don't need it! x
