Fierce winds and fronds... oh and a tabby!

In a state of anxiety about his 6 foot tree beloved cut off all the fronds yesterday as a storm had been predicted later in the day and tree ferns are not fond of a bashing.
Having scalped the tree fern he put the fronds onto the terrace and went indoors to fetch a garden sack to dispose of them.

Beloved picks up a frond from the top of the pile to place in refuse sack and has minor cardiac arrest..

Curious tabby has made a nest amongst the fronds and is reluctant to relinquish his new jungle bed...

Well.. did you survive the storm last night ?
We had quite a bashing but no damage that I can see other than a few bent daffs in the garden and an upturned rabbit ornament.
I hope you all fared well. I think it's bark was worse than it's bite, well here at least..

Thank heavens you don't have a wood shredder! Pickles does choose his spots doesn't he! When our two cats were kittens I found one in the washing machine in the middle of the washing that I was loading, can you imagine!! Take care Michele
thanks for all the lovely comments you left on my blog yesterday

Love the photos of Pickles! The storm wasn't too bad in London either. No damage as far as I can see, although the sound of it did wake me at around 5.30 this morning! Glad to know all is well in Bath. x

He is a real Pickle!
I have cut back my tree ferns and I like to wrap the fronds around the crown to protect it.
We have not had too bad a time with the strong it is bin day they are all over the place!
As I sit in the study to leave this commnet....I can hear little crys coming from the hall.....I gave in and went see why he was crying for a good Mum does! and there he was four stairs up! this is a first...and he could not get back down - had to take a photo for another post!
I am wet and wind-swept, as I went out to rescue the bins and boxs from being taken off to some other garden...lids have gone!!! And more interestingly...........
I have just discovered a 'New Beauty Sectret' Michele....for another post lol....and this does work! thankfully.

We've just had rain & some wind but not that bad - no damage.

I bet Pickles was playing tigers-in-the-jungle in amongst the leaves!

Michele, I thought it was strange, two posts in one day! Now I know why. That Pickles sure does hog the limelight, his mother should really have put him on the stage! Classic! x

The storm has just arrived here in Burgundy, although we are at least 5 hours from the english coastline we are still being battered by wind and rain. Love the pictures of the hidden cat.

What a sweet kitty! I'd hide under there, too, if I were a cat. Looks like a fun place to play and deliberate over what kind of mischief to get oneself into!

It was really windy here last night but over the last few weeks we have had worse and it must have rained loads in the night too, but today hasn't been that bad, although the weather forcast did say we had had snow in this area but I didn't see any of it!

Thankyou for your lovely message!

I am so sorry to hear what happened to both your parents. Cancer is a cruel disease. I think that remembering my Grandad is what helps to keep his memory alive and I like to remember him lots.

I don't know that part of Belgium, I see it is right on the border, so your mother could have possibly spoken French or Flemish, or both! Cool.

I am trying to make some more Belgian foods lately, hence the speculoos, hopefully there will be more soon! If you know any great baking recipes let me know.

We do have windy weather but nothing like what you had!

Hi Michele, my garden remained intact, fortunately, though it's starting to blow a gale again outside now, so we shall see!
