It must be Christmas!!

Well something tells me it must be Christmas because Santa has left me another present ... not under the tree.. or in my stocking (40 denier tights in my case) .. but this morning I discover to my great joy and utter amazement that I have another award.. this time from the lovely bonny and always bouncy..( in a Tigger sort of way) Kath at Beeswax !
THANK YOU so much for this Kath ... I will place it very carefully on my blog mantel with the other award that I received from Kristina yesterday...
I must say that these awards are the icing on the cake for me but the truth is I get so much out of reading your blogs each day and your daily comments are all the rewards I could wish for.. I love communicating with you all! I do hope that doesn't sound ungrateful... I am pleased as punch with my latest accolades!

I thought that I would cram in just one more reference to Christmas before the festive frenzy really kicks off..

I decided not to put off the inevitable gift wrapping marathon any longer .. so with the help of my little furry friend (or not so much help as hindrance) I waded through Phase 1 of this slightly masochistic chore..
I love the idea of wrapping up presents but in reality.. when the sellotape has decided to stick to itself for the umpteenth time and Pickles has sabotaged each tying of ribbon and string..

the novelty starts to wear thin and I wish that it was all nicely packaged and sitting under the tree and me in an armchair with a restorative cup of tea!!

How do you wrap a spider ...or is it an octopus?

Pickles worked up a thirst with all his gift wrapping help and helped himself to a drink... My glass of water!!!

Lastly.. what would a blog be without a small mention of the weather..
Yesterday was mighty cold but wonderful... I love crisp frosty days. The frost lingered all day in our street and I spotted this wonderful frozen hand print on a car windscreen...

.....now that's what I call a frosty reception!

Have a wonderful day and don't let that wrapping get the better of you. XXX

Well you are far more organised than me... Still got the whole load of wrapping to go, the house and children to clean, cooking for 12 and party preparations for tonight and washing the beds to go .. and thats just today. The turkey and Christmas cake can just forget it!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year Michele, sit back and relax!

Congratulations on your award, you must be very proud. It is a lovely award to receive.

Pickles is so cute, and so very helpful too!

I am very organised and got my wrapping done last night at 11pm - what a way to spend an evening!

Many congrats on your wonderful award--very well done, and well deserved! You have a furry helper to help you with Christmas preparations too...oh bless the sweet creatures, they know not that they are in the way--LOL! Your Pickles is lovely. Lots of list-crossing off these last couple of day. All done mostly, just need to get in food for the feast on the Eve and flowers--so up & our early tomorrow morning for the last bits...Then it's fun time! Wishing you & yours a beautiful Holiday Season, peace and many blessings in the New Year! ((HUGS))

Congrats on your new award Michele, how lovely for you! Glad Pickles is helping. mine sat there defiantly yesterday staring me out and threw a glass bauble onto the floor and watched it smash! I'm not yet on the wrapping stage (pressie buying at last completed, hooray, next the food, yeuch!), but I don't think my two moggies will be helping! One of them lost her voice this week - she was completely mute- and we were convinced it was because she'd eaten about a dozen baubles, but it's back with a vengeance today!

Hope you get your cup of tea

Hey, well done on your award - well deserved. Isn't it funny how wrapping is such a chore for a lot of us - I haven't started mine yet, but fortunately don't have much to do as we agreed in the family not to do presents. Only Mr. Blooms to wrap, and he doesn't really care how they look so should get them done in about 5 minutes!
Hope your Christmas is everything you want it to be.

Well done on your award! Clever girlie!

Finally I have got my house partway clean - and taken a bloggie pic of it too (although it'll look like a pit again in about 24-hours).

Pickles is such a little helper - my three mutts just try to nibble at the sellotape.

Hello Michele,
I have just read your comment on VictoriaMayPlum's blog that you used to live in Coverack. So did I!! Whereabouts was your holiday cottage and when did your parents' own it? I lived above Coverack at Trevalsoe and went to school at Coverack which is where my mother taught too. I'd love to hear from you. (Small world!)

Oh, boy...wrapping can be an absolute nightmare...I try to stop before it gets to that stage, have a cup of tea or coffee, blog a bit, look at the sky, go to the bathroom, get a snack, take a nap....dang...all those packages are still there, waiting to be finished up!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS....bj
Oh, and congrats on your new award!!

Well done on making a start. I have got all the presents to wrap, cake to ice, still some shopping to do and the house to tidy. The in-laws arrive at lunchtime today, so panic is setting in! Hope you have a fabulous Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi Michele, that cat of yours really needs to start a bog of his own, Pickles in a Pickle! Nice to have Pickles' hindrance though, he looks good company. In my Victor Meldrew voice 'I don't believe it', another award, go easy, that mantel will be off its hinges soon! I have been feeling a bit Baa Humbug over the last few days, but I have been perked up this morning by finding some lovely Christmas decorations at giveaway prices in B&Q. x

Don't you just love furry friends and their special ways of helping us wrap presents? My pooch likes to walk across the wrapping paper and punch holes in it with her claws as she goes. Not to mention the fur she sheds that gets stuck in the tape. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The handprint on the glass is really funny. I bet someone had a cold hand by the time it melted the ice.

Have a merry Christmas!

Hi Michele, Thank you so much for the award, not that I think I deserve it, my blogging duties have lapsed of late but where there's a will there's a way.... Have a fantastic christmas, I too shall be wrestling with the paper and tape tonight, maybe I'll put an old movie on to keep me calm. Not like last year when I put 'Saving Private Ryan' on while I wrapped, boy I was traumatised and the wrapping was evidence of this. Needless to say, I've never allowed Andy to watch the film, and it was his present!!!!Best Wishes to you and yours, Annie x

Hello Michele, isn't this frost just the best. How super of you to get an award, they are hard work but so much fun, and yours is well deserved.

Congratulations on your award! I love your kitty sneaking a sip from your glass. I had a cat once that used to ALWAYS drink my milk. The cat we have now thinks she's a dog - she gets on her hind legs and begs at the dinner table!

I still have wrapping to do... sigh. All boxes though so it shouldn't be too bad.

LOVE the frosty handprint! =)

Love the cat.. I used to leave drinks unattended until I spied the cat having a drink of DIET COKE.. who would of thought a cat would drink that???

Happy new year to you.. I finished wrapping christmas morning at 2am.. the kids were still awake, so I threatened them with removal of limbs if they come out of their room (they are older beasts)..
