Identity Crisis...

I am certainly not a Historian.. as for the Armchair Critic.. well.... on occasions it could be said I have far too much of an opinion whilst watching Masterchef or Escape to the Country..
No..
I fear that the role I fit most aptly these days...is the Blithering idiot!
I just don't seem to be able to get my act together.... hence a rather protracted absence from my blog.. Please don't tell me you didn't notice... or worse.. care!!
It has been a while since I last posted on my blog.... for reasons that I am not entirely sure about.
My absence could be due to the eternal struggle with finding enough hours in the day to achieve all my wishes and work.. or could be the fact that my old laptop finally died last week and left me high and dry again until my sugar plum fairy (sorry P) waved his magic wand ..and..
***!!! shazzam ***!!! magicked up a new shiny lap top for me...Lucky lucky me..
It is rather an essential part of my life.. we are joined at the hip..me and my pooter and without this wonderful box of wizardry I am left up the proverbial creek without a proverbial paddle!

I was in the throes of designing some new cards for the hungry beast that is the retail industry.. maybe not quite so ravenous these days.. but still with enough appetite to demand new products from me.
It has been a case of swimming against the tide... inspiration very thin on the ground.. and mind in neutral and full of stuff and nonsense.. and not.."Happy Birthday" designs..
I did however manage a brief spark of creativity before my old pooter gave up the ghost and created some new Mother's Day.. stroke... Birthday ... stroke.. whatever you wish day.. cards.Lilac or Lime..?

Each design comes with my trademark.. detachable badge.. to wear with pride!

Several variations on a theme... all cards can be personalised with a name or a greeting of your choice..

Believe it or not.. I am being asked for Christmas designs now.. so I can foresee a summer of snow and Santas again...

Before I disappear into the abyss again... I must apologise to all concerned for the complete lack of dedication on my part to the tags I have been given in the past.
I will try and be a more dedicated and diligent blogger from now on...
When I have stopped being a blithering idiot!

I am glad that you have put in an appearance! The new cards are great - I like the soft colours that you have used. I am lost without my computer too. I can't believe that so much of my life was spent computer free!

Hello Michele, No I haven't forgotten you, not at all, but there are not enough hours in the day here either, not to mention days in the week. Pfffffff that was your life just passing by (isn't this actually a Monty Python text?). Now I promise to email you today!
Your new cards are adorable and I think it's good to have been asked to make Christmas cards again. You'll be hearing from me, probably around midnight :-D

Ooh yeah, I do like those! Very much so.

I hate being without the PC too, but luckily my other half misses it even more so if it goes wrong he fixes it straight away :D

So is it deliberate that your blog is playing "Say you don't mind" because of course we'll "let you off this time"!
Actually I know exactly how you feel I'm rather lacking in the blogging department at the moment, must be something in the air.

Lovely to have you back...and a mug with blithering idiot is not appropriate for you my friend...I have two mugs for work 'drama queen' and 'top totty' made as part of the jamie Oliver range...the later a bit of a joke in my old age the former a spot on description...

Aaaah bliss - after a morning of stripping I come home to find my blithering idiot of a friend back in the land of blog with Mr Blunstone serenading me - MERCI BEAUCOUP (it's even better than a cup of tea and a custard cream). Your cards are delicious, but I've already told you that, they are exquisitely gorgeous, if things can be exquisitely gorgeous.

The cards are just gorgeous. I am going to leave your post up on the laptop in the hope that Andy and the girls get the hint!
Glad you're back - I am still always reading if not always leaving comments.

perhaps you could look into hiring piece workers. I am just thinking of your beautiful garden. You would not want it to return to wasteland.

The same mug in our cupboard says "village idiot" on the front - given to Mr Cottage by The boy (children are just SO disrespectful these days!)

You know I think your cards are wonderful - as Mother's Day in South Africa is in May I will be knocking on your door for an out of season card!

I met you once in Bath about a couple of years ago. You had a stand at a craft fair.
I love your Mother's day cards! No wonder you haven't had much blogging time, you have been a busy bee! Love your work.

only so many hours in the day, yes you were missed but the demands of being a Design Genius - particularily one without a computer - are understood. Can't u make yrself a badge that says Design Genius and them people will stop bothering you with details like shopping, cooking, ironing?

Love your new cards Michele. I am so glad you have returned with a new laptop. x

Hi Michele

Thank you for posting a message on my blog. How nice that we share similar memories of lovely childhood holidays spent with family in Belgium. I'd love to hear more of your memories there!

I wouldn't expect you to remember as we only chatted briefly. I didn't buy any frames, I came to the craft fair quite by chance as I was looking for toilets for my daughter! But on the way back spotted your stand which caught my eye and stopped for a few minutes before having to go back to the car.

I will be going to the V&H fair as a visitor this year. I really look forward to it. Meeting everyone in person will be so nice, especially when you keep in touch by blog.

I very much look forward to meeting again Michele, I feel we woud probably have much to talk about.

New cards are great. I'm coming to the fair at the end of May so I'll be able to meet you all, really looking forward to it but I better get saving!!! :)

Hi Michele,
'Blithering Idiot' indeed - I know you to be a very articulate and clever lady - your gorgeous cards are proof of that!
Look after yourself and don't work too hard!

PS: my verification word is 'sipwers' - that would make a good name for your mug collection - or is that just me being a blithering idiot?! ha!

I was rather worried about you - glad you're back and nothing untoward was going on chez custard.

Those Mother's Day cards are delicious - they remind me of the mother illustrated in James James Morrison Morrison Weatherby George Dupree - one of my favourite poems as a tot.

Your new cards are gorgeous, you definitely cannot be a 'blithering idiot' to create something so lovely!

Oh and don't worry about being an 'armchair critic' it is only natural to share one's opinion on the culinery offerings shown on masterchef ~ I too am guilty of this and I struggle to get beans on toast on the table looking half edible!

ah, dear Custardo, how splendid to see you dearie.
Super super new cards, as usual. Liking the little lambs as well in your side bar, shall investigate further shortly.
Perhaps shall consider getting your mugs for work and then handing them out to relevant customers-what do you think?

What fabulous cards, Michele! And I love the music on your blog! My 8 year old daughter was just asking me what a "shadowbox" was, and I thought, "Aha! Let's go visit Michele"! Hope you're having a lovely pre-Spring! =) We still have snow. =O

It is me...managed at long last to get on the lap top!
The cards are lovely Michele.
It is now 1.30pm and I am still not dressed! off to the Kings Road this afternoon to collect a lace panel. I did look up Sissinghurst but sadly it is not open, so I will have to think of somewhere else to escape to!
Hope you have a lovely weekend with the 'boys'.

I have long descided that being a blithering idiot is part of motherhood(for you lucky unparents read running your own business) we have so many little chores and repetitive stuff to do over and over we often turn off our brains to conserve energy and sometime its tricky to kick start it again!

Welcome back,love the cards.

Where would any of us be without our 'pooters', so glad somebody else calls it that. Creative juices come and go don't they, and the cards look wonderful!
