Ode to the Movember Moustache..

Today Mr Custard will ceremoniously shave off his moustache as promised to the children of his primary school. I must say that I have grown rather fond of this hairy creature growing upon his top lip and will lament the passing of this hirsute exercise.

In reverence to his participation in the Movember charity fund raising... he has written a poem...

Ode to the Moustache

The hair that blossoms on the lip,

Is rarely cool and never hip.

So shave it off and get a grip;

You know you look an utter drip.

It’s growing for a noble cause,

But do not linger for applause;

You’d look less daft in grandma’s drawers;

Some “L’Oreal tinted” Santa Clause!

So shave it off! Do it today!

Don’t defer it; don’t delay.

The execution must not stay;

The balder lip is the modern way.

November it is almost past;

Advent it is here at last.

No need to ponder or to fast;

Just have a shave - you look an ass!

Can you spot the difference between Jason King and Mr Custard?

Fantastic poem Mr Custard. I shall share it with Mr Jam later. His mo went last night after he told me several people at work had told him he looked like a 70's porn star!! That was the final straw, I couldn't bear to look at it a moment longer - out came the razor.
But well done Mr C that looks like a fine one you've grown there!

Hi Michele
I remember my Dad in the seventies sporting some rather fab sideburns. I think the moustache should stay, looks great. See you Saturday.

Great poem! What a fun way to raise money! I remember my dad having a moustache in the 70's - I cried when he told me he was growing one and I cried when he shaved it off!

Ooh, I used to like Jason King, I'd forgotten all about him. Well done to all the men who sported a moustache and supported this good cause. Great poem and what a lovely, smiley face your husband has!
Still keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Mr Custard looks great with his 'tache - honestly - it must inspire his poetic side! I encouraged Husband to grow one for Movember, but unfortunately he declined :-(

Just read this poem to Tom who thinks it's very funny - he's sporting designer stubble today - even has a gadget to keep it the right length!
Mr Custard is much better looking than Jason King who looks a bit of a perve. Karen X

OMG Jason King! However did you remember?? I had completely forgotten that show and him. I thought he was so incredibly sophisticated when i was a kid. In fact, he may have been my first crush. Love Mr Custard's poem, and that's a damn fine mo to be shaving off. jxx

Really? I LOVE his cookie duster! Beards are another story, but i <3 staches. Out here in NV, we have cowboys (real ones) who wax theirs into points so that they could poke your eye out!
Besides, Mr Custard looks so nice in his. His laugh lines are beautiful, too.
