Compliments of the Season..

Entering in to the festive spirit, a suitably pink sky dawned over Bath on the eve of Christmas...

It was not long before we discovered that our boiler had clocked off for it's winter hols and had left us in the cold.. with no forwarding address..

So it's a cold Custard household here today.. but that has not dampened our jollity. I can highly recommend the merits of hugging a cat when the heating system goes A.W.O.L.. if only the one available cat would desist in sabotaging my wrapping exercise..

The merry festive pot of chilli is stewing away in the oven to spice up our Christmas Eve.. all the presents are wrapped now, with the help of Pickles, and are under the tree waiting for the ever so restrained (cough !!!) gift unwrapping ceremony tomorrow..

All that needs to be done now is to wish you all.. my dear visitors, friends and lurkers.. a truly Happy and Peaceful Christmas.. and I wish you all a year of good health, wealth and happiness in the year to come..Much love from
Michele and the rest of the Custard household xx

Merry Christmas to the Custard household! ... I see you have had the same kind of "help" with wrapping that I had a couple of days ago!! Why does the boiler always have to pick its moment to go on strike?! Hope you stay warm this Christmas!

Have a wonderful Christmas Michele - you and the rest of the custards. Thank you so much for your card -it is so cute. I have been crap and hardly sent out any which is shocking for someone who designs and sells cards. Actually your post earlier could have been written by me as I have had bloggers block too. and I haven't had the excuse of a cold/flu either!

anyway - have a great one!

much love Claire x

Pop on the thermals, have a warming drink and I'm sure you'll have a most marvelous Christmastime in spite of the AWOL boiler!

Cats always love to help when they are not wanted Pickles was just making all those presents his. That photo of Boris and Midge was a fluke they just happened to be sat looking at me while I was loading photos onto my laptop so I had the camera in my hand! Have a lovely day, see you soon I hope. It's alarming how many people have had trouble with their heating over the last few days. SOrry to hear yours is botched too.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas too - despite the broken boiler. Perhaps a glass or two of the 'hard stuff' might help to warm the cockles. Glad to see Mr Pickles is such a help with present wrapping!! At least he's useful as a furry hot-water bottle.

Hi Michele

I think your boiler ran off with Mum's - her heating started playing up last week and although it keeps popping back from time to time, that's only if no-one's looking.

Thanks for the card - still don't seem to have written down your address so yours is still here! But ... my dear daughter and hubby gave me the identical Cowboys and Custard card and told me that your things are wonderful. I was then able to tell her that I already knew that!!!!

All set for Wednesday?

Hi Michele, hope you had a lovely Christmas (we are waiting for our boiler to go any minute!) and have a Happy and Healthy New Year... thank you for my gorgeous Christmas card too xxx

Just came across your blog through a recommendation from The Vintage Magpie, and saw your post about Bath. I am a Northern Canadian girl who's sister married a man from Bath, who's family all still lives there. It caught my eye and I enjoyed several posts. Enjoy the New Year. I will be forwarding this on to the Toronto couple now.

Hope the boiler's fixed soon. Great timing! Last Christmas Eve our road had a power cut. No electric until Christmas morning. Everyone agreed it was SUCH good fun sitting in candlelight, telling stories. A Christmas Eve we'll all remember for a long time. xx
