Extreme makeover....

This little chap went under the knife yesterday.... He was in desperate need of a makeover and a mouth...!

I do hope my cosmetic surgical skills did him justice.... only problem is .. now he won't stop talking!
I have been having SO much fun collecting items for the Vintage & Handmade Fair on May 30th.. just in case you had forgotten!!!!
This is just a wee morsel of what I will be taking to the fair... Mr Custard.. very generously made me these sweet set of shelves made from an old pine drawer that he scavenged from our local skip.. tut tut! Painted in a clotted cream colour it is the perfect display for my seaside theme...

I had better go and scrub up now for another makeover... who's next?!

Lovely pictures Michelle. Mr Bear looks very happy now, he's probably just excited at having a mouth.

Ooh Michèle this looks like so much fun! If you ever go out of business, you should consider cosmetic sugery ;-). I love love love that display. The only problem is: what if you sell anything of it? it will ruin this beautiful picture, which is sheer perfection right now! I bet you have a few lovely items in your sleeve to replace the sold item, don't you? This is the way to spend your time. (Sorry to have bothered you with my way of spending my time..., but as I told you, it helped me, I know that is very selfish, sorry about that too). Enjoy the preparations and give my compliments to Mr. Custard for making the little cupboard please.

Hi Michèle

Your taster pictures for the V&H Fair have really wet my appetite. I think everyone had better save up lots as there are going to be so many tempting things! I really look forward to it. You must be so busy getting ready for the fair!

Oh he looks lovely now. I used to hate sewing the noses on the teddies I used to make, very uncomfortable for me and the teddy.
Nice shelves too!

What a darling drawer of shelves! And I love the sound of the name for the color, "clotted cream" - YUM! =) Only wish I lived closer so I could go to the fair!

That's a fantastic idea to make shelves from a drawer. Great job. I love all your childhood nostalgia, vintage bits 'n bobs. I can't believe the bear has been silenced for so long. Now he has a mouth there will be no stopping him drawing over a crowd at the fair. I hope you do really well Michele, and good luck. x

Hi Milchele, my goodness you've certainly found some great golden oldies for adoption at your fair, I only wish it was nearer my far flung outpost here in Cumbria. A big thanks for calling at flutterby patch, you always leave such nice comments. I've been keeping up to speed with all your goings on at Cowboys and Custard over the past months but as I know what its like to have a big fair looming on the horizon I have refrained from leaving comments as I didn't want you to feel under any obligation to reply. I'm sure 30th May will be huge success for you all. Happy Easter to you and the rest of the Custard family, love Eli
