The Weather Girl..

I think I must have watched my 100th weather report and logged on to my 'nth... weather website since Monday to eagerly watch the movement of weather across the British Isles..
'Is it..isn't it?'.. has been the chant in our house this week...
I was like a child on Monday night.. a child on Christmas Eve.. waiting for that special visit.. one that comes once a year... only if you are very lucky or live in Finland!
Well.. it certainly delivered this time and how..! This was our hill this morning... more like an Olympic ski slope...but so beautiful in all it's bleak and bleary light at 8 a.m..
Son and heir.. and I... watched the determined commuters struggling, sliding, scrunching along the snowy pavements on their way to work...
Son .. hugely happy that his school had announced only the fit, able and masochistic.. should attempt to climb the steepest hill in Bath to get to school.
Son decided he was neither of these so stayed put.. throwing snowballs at any moving target.. mostly me..
By 2 p.m.. the party was over and the snow was fast turning in to second-hand news and much slush...
They say there is more on the way tonight.... more merriment tomorrow!

Now.. about the giveaway...
I have been so amused.. chuckled.. guffawed.. laughed...giggled and roared with laughter at your mishaps.. Why is it so amusing to see someone slip up.. maybe to err is human after all!
But..the one story that made me laugh into my boots..was that of Flossie & Tom's.. and the five course lunch...I could just imagine the dishes being presented at intervals.. rather like an Italian feast but not quite the same with a British roast.. So.. Thank you for your entertaining stories.. I wish I could reward you all for making me smile..
I will be sending a little something to Flossie & Tom.. in due course..

Now where did I put those tennis racquet's.. Could be all the rage on the streets tomorrow!?

Hi Michele, that is one steep hill! we still have snow on all the paths and we could have done with some tennis raquets on the walk to school this morning. Luckily the snow is still crumbly and has not yet turned to ice. Hope you are keeping warm and cosy.
Thanks for the visit too,
lots of love

Beautiful! A snow-covered Bath! A sight to behold!

We're covered in snow, too. It's been one longggg winter here, that's for sure! It's supposed to be -1 with the windchill tonight... I wonder if our frigid temps are headed your way just as the snow has!

I love snow too, I was very excited on Monday afternoon... I was told off in the managment meeting for not listening & watching the snow :)
My OH had to go to Bristol airport this am... he was not happy... flight was 3 hours late :(
Fingers crossed we get more tomorrow x

I'm glad that you & Master Custard could stay safely & snugly at home - your hill must have been lethal today! Bet Pickles was about as pleased as our cats were with the white stuff!

The Boy is waiting with baited breath & watching the weather forecasts avidly, hoping that school will be closed again tomorrow!

I wouldn't fancy walking up that hill in frost or snow.I'm definately a wimp when it comes to slipping and sliding about in the white stuff. Still, it looks lovley doesn't it and it's great to see the kids playing out in it. My son is very grumpy this morning as school is open and he's only had two days off due to closures.

Hi Michele, we woke to lots more snow today and it is really still heavily snowing, this is quite unusual for our area we often miss it completely so it must be quite bad elsewhere. Your hill looks like fun!
Love the new cards especially the post box and the bunny...
Stay cosy

Thanks for your comments on the house Michele, I do think older houses are great!

I joined the email mailing list for the TIC when I went in and you got a mention in the latest newsletter for your lovely handmade valentines cards :) By the way if you do go in apparently if you quote the name Lisa (the manager) you get a 10% discount!

Oh Michele, that is one heck of a hill! Must keep you fit wandering up and down there.

The snow here is just ice now, horrible and dangerous. Just waiting for Sunday when we are expected to get another big downfall. Have fun in it!

Hi Weather Girl, Michele. I love the post! Isn't the weather amazing? I love it, as it doesn't hinder what I want to do and it makes the landscape look so beautifully empty of clutter! I've tagged you with an award, so do pop over to my blog to find out more. Happy days. Denise

The hills our side of Bath were long and winding, your side they just start at the top and go straight down!!!!

The dollshouse stayed unsold for about 10 minutes!!

Hi Michele,
Take care on those Bath hills of yours this morning, now that the snow is starting to melt...Hope the PO will be open today.
I am going to TRY to move my car off our driveway shortly, as she's been sat there for days now...

Congratulations to Flossie & Tom!

Have a lovely week,

Such lovely pictures Michele, I bet the whole City looked gorgeous. I think we must have been the only county without any.

Hello
I'm new to the world of blogging and my friend Lucy 'Vintage Floral and Gingham' recommended your blog to look at.
I've been reading some of your past entries and looking at the cards you make.
I love buying cards for people and also receiving them, I find the trouble is that they are all the same in the shops and not always that interesting.
I love the valentine card you have done with the badge, it is so simple yet very effective.
I like the homemade touch as well and feel there is a much more personal touch.
I was wondering if you would be able to give me some tips and pointers as to how you started making your cards and where you get your inspiration from. I'm only just starting out and to begin with I'm just looking to develop my interests and to be able to do something other than work....
I hope you don't mind me asking for you advice, I look forward to hearing from you and Thank you Emma xx (Thoughts and Ideas)
